Warning notices
-
Caution! The sheet metal could have sharp cutting edges that could cut you. As we do not know for what purpose the sheets are used, we unfortunately cannot deburr them without interfering with any weld seam preparations. For this reason, we recommend wearing cut-resistant gloves!
-
Rust hazard! The sheet metal can rust heavily in a short time. This rust can weaken the material and lead to complete failure. We always recommend applying a corrosion-resistant protective layer, e.g. by painting!
-
Keep away from other metals! Steel should never be brought into direct contact with other metals, or in their immediate vicinity, because contact corrosion or cross-contamination can occur. Contact corrosion and cross-contamination can significantly weaken the affected metals. Stainless steel is particularly affected, as it loses its non-corrosive properties
-
Only process with respiratory protection! Steel should only be processed with appropriate respiratory protection, as metal dust poses health risks.
-
Weld only with fume extraction! Steel should only be welded with an appropriate fume extraction system and using suitable respiratory protection. The gases produced during welding can cause severe health damage.
Care instructions
Since steel has no corrosion protection of its own and therefore starts to rust quickly, a protective layer is recommended, which is maintained at regular intervals. A protective layer can be built up, for example, by painting, galvanizing, powder coating or by applying commercially available mineral oil.
