Description
Cortenstahl connector in T-shape
This T-connecting element made of corten steel sheet has a material thickness of 2mm and is therefore very stable. It is the perfect extension for your Cortenstahl lawn edge and is compatible with our lawn edge system RK01. The special T-shape allows you to miss the possibility of your lawn edge an individual touch. Thus, the connecting piece can be installed at a location selected by you, between the already existing segments, in order to expand the lawn edge as desired. Also suitable for a clear separation between your vegetables or flowers.
Explanation of the T-connection
The total length of the T-connection is 400mm, in the middle a sheet is firmly welded to a depth of 200mm. At each end there are two holes which ensure a secure screw connection of the T-extension with the segments and with the aid of M6 lens head screws and steel tooth safety nuts.
Main key data
The connecting piece ensures a proper demarcation or classification and a secure hold of your lawn edge. By adjusting the angle, you have a greater clearance. Further advantages at a glance:
- Weather resistant
- Multi-adjustable
- Natural screw protection
- Durable over decades
Cortenstahl in the garden area
Cortenstahl is the best material for the outdoor area due to the diverse properties. When exposed to moisture, air and dryness, the natural grate process begins. The steel reacts with the oxygen in the air and forms a protective layer of iron oxide (Rostpatina). This layer acts as a barrier and makes corten steel corrosion resistant. Over time, the grate layer deepens and develops a characteristic rusty color. The copper content in the corten steel also provides effective protection against screws. Since this steel does not require special care, it remains a reliable companion in your garden for decades.
Scope
- 1x Connecting piece in T-shape 400x200x200mm
- 6x M6x12 Lens head screws made of steel and 6x M6 teeth safety nuts made of steel
These are visually appealing, but have no corrosion resistance and can therefore suffer from material fatigue over time.

Information on product safety:
Warning notes:
- Danger of suffocation! The product comes with small screws and nuts that could be swallowed by a child. Please do not leave your child unattended!
- Cutting hazard! The lawn edging segment may have sharp edges. We ask for appropriate caution and recommend using cut-resistant gloves. Trip hazard! Please note that a lawn edging can pose a trip hazard, depending on its position, and should be marked accordingly.
- Attention, stains! The rust patina can leave stains on your clothing. We ask you to take this into account.
- Keep away from other metals! Contact with or in close proximity to other metals can lead to contact corrosion or cross-contamination. This can damage both metals and lead to material failure. Stainless steel is particularly affected by this, as it can lose its non-corrosive properties.
Care instructions:
Thanks to the Corten steel, the segment does not require regular maintenance or cleaning. Even the occasional bump with the lawnmower is not a problem because the material has "self-healing" properties. To be more precise, any scratches in the grating and the barrier layer underneath close themselves. The barrier layer forms when the patina builds up and is located between the surface rust and the steel. It protects the material from further corrosion and is therefore the reason for the high durability of Corten steel. In order for the barrier layer to develop properly, the material must undergo many changes between wet and dry conditions. This can either happen naturally due to the effects of the weather or can be artificially accelerated by regular wetting or by using chemical agents. You can tell whether the barrier layer is fully formed by the fact that the rust surface no longer changes visually over a longer period of time.
