Description
Cortenstahl X connector
This special cross connector is equipped with a material thickness of 2mm and is made of corten steel. Thanks to the compatibility with our RK01 lawn edge system, it is the ideal accessory to supplement or expand your Cortensteel edge. The special X-shape allows you to divide your lawn edge into different areas. This is ideal for separating different vegetables or plant species. The dimension from the outer edge to the middle of the connecting piece is 200mm, resulting in a total length of 400mm per side. The height is set to 200mm. At the ends of the X-connection there are 2 holes each, which provides a secure connection of the X-connection piece to the segments with the aid of M6 lens head screws and tooth-locking nut made of steel.
Main key data
The connecting piece ensures a proper demarcation or classification and a secure hold of your lawn edge. By adjusting the angle, you have a greater clearance. Further advantages at a glance:
- weather resistant
- Various adjustment options available
- Natural protection against snails
- Decades Durable
What is the special thing about corten steel?
Cortensteel is ideal for outdoor use. The natural grate process begins when moisture, air and dryness are exposed to the corten steel. It reacts with the oxygen in the air, resulting in a protective layer of iron oxide (rust). This layer forms a barrier that makes the corten steel corrosion resistant. Over time, the grate layer deepens and thus assumes a characteristic rusty color. The copper content contained in corten steel is also effective protection against screws. This does not require special care and is therefore your friend in your garden for decades.
Scope
- 1x Connecting piece in X-shape 400x400x200mm
- 8x M6x12 Lens head screws made of steel and 8x M6 teeth safety nuts made of steel
These are visually appealing, but have no corrosion resistance and can therefore suffer from material fatigue over time.

Information on product safety:
Warning notes:
- Danger of suffocation! The product comes with small screws and nuts that could be swallowed by a child. Please do not leave your child unattended!
- Cutting hazard! The lawn edging segment may have sharp edges. We ask for appropriate caution and recommend using cut-resistant gloves. Trip hazard! Please note that a lawn edging can pose a trip hazard, depending on its position, and should be marked accordingly.
- Attention, stains! The rust patina can leave stains on your clothing. We ask you to take this into account.
- Keep away from other metals! Contact with or in close proximity to other metals can lead to contact corrosion or cross-contamination. This can damage both metals and lead to material failure. Stainless steel is particularly affected by this, as it can lose its non-corrosive properties.
Care instructions:
Thanks to the Corten steel, the segment does not require regular maintenance or cleaning. Even the occasional bump with the lawnmower is not a problem because the material has "self-healing" properties. To be more precise, any scratches in the grating and the barrier layer underneath close themselves. The barrier layer forms when the patina builds up and is located between the surface rust and the steel. It protects the material from further corrosion and is therefore the reason for the high durability of Corten steel. In order for the barrier layer to develop properly, the material must undergo many changes between wet and dry conditions. This can either happen naturally due to the effects of the weather or can be artificially accelerated by regular wetting or by using chemical agents. You can tell whether the barrier layer is fully formed by the fact that the rust surface no longer changes visually over a longer period of time.
