Why would you choose a corten steel planting pot?
Cortenstahl enjoys great popularity among gardeners and those who want to become, as it is almost indestructible. Corten steel planting dowels are ideal for outdoor use. The characteristic grate-brown coloring allows you to create attractive contrasts in your garden, on your terrace, on the balcony or in the entrance. These seedlings are extremely weatherproof and do not require any special care. According to the principle: Preferably invest in a high-quality purchase instead of resorting to inexpensive, not so high-quality products twice.
What distinguishes Cortenstahl?
Cortensteel, is also known as weatherproof steel, this steel represents a special type of steel alloy. Its outstanding weather resistance and the characteristic rostrote patina make it so unique. The term “corrosion resistance” derives from the words “corrosion resistance” and “tensile strength” which indicates the specific properties of this alloy. The following paragraph lists the main features:
- Weather resistance: Cortenstahl is characterized by high weather resistance. The alloy forms on the surface a protective oxide layer which protects against further corrosion
- Longevity: Due to its high weather resistance and corrosion resistance, corten steel is particularly durable and requires less care compared to conventional steel
- Rusty Patina: Over time, the steel develops a characteristic raw patina, which is not only decorative, but also serves as a protective layer.
- Self-regenerating: Cortensteel regenerates automatically by forming a new protective layer
- High tensile strength: Cortensteel has a high tensile strength, making it robust and durable
What's a "Patina"?
The patina is a natural oxide layer which forms on the surface of metals such as corten steel. This results from chemical reactions with ambient air and moisture, gives the metal a characteristic coloration and protects it from further corrosion. In the case of corten steel, the rust patina adopts a raw color and acts as a protective layer against progressive corrosion, this process can last up to 6 months
What distinguishes a planting dowel from corten steel from a conventional planting dowel?
Corten steel planting dowels are characterized by their special weather resistance and the characteristic rust brown. Compared to traditional planting dowels, they offer a unique look that is still gaining charm over time due to the natural grate process. The weatherproof property allows long-lasting outdoor use without losing quality.

What are the advantages of corten steel planting dowels?
The precisely welded seams provide unmatched stability together with the robust corten steel. Those who want to use the grate effect in a targeted manner value the advantages of Cortenstahl. The natural grate patina gives these planting vessels an exclusive look and thus becomes the perfect eye-catcher in the garden or on the entrance.
- Good stability due to increased weight
- Through the natural grate process we make every planting dowel a unique one
- Cortenstahl harmonizes well with various materials
- Stylish in every way
- For cleaning the planting dowel it is sufficient to remove the dirt with a fine sponge and then rinse briefly with a water hose
- Snails have made it hard to eat plants into this flowerpot. The protective effect can be increased by using materials such as corten steel, since the high copper content makes it difficult to access the screws
Additional information
In the first months, a considerable amount of rust water will flow off at the planting dowel. This can leave stubborn dirt on tiles, plates and plasters. The solution is to place the seedlings in another place in the first months. Even the use of a grate accelerator does not provide any remedy, since this accelerates grate formation, but not the formation of the patina layer. In order to quickly obtain a uniform, attractive patina layer, regular watering in dry weather is recommended.
