Steel hat profile made of sheet metal
SKU: 114799
A hat profile bent from steel sheet that is made to your desired size. The profile is available in material thicknesses from 0.5mm to 3mm and, thanks to its untreated surface, is outstanding for further processing.
Suitable for this
Description
Hat rail to measure
The hat profiles, or often also called hat rail, can be used in many ways and can be adapted precisely to your project thanks to our online configurator. It is made from high quality DC01 steel sheet with a material thickness between 0.5mm and 3mm, especially for you and brought into the desired shape with the die bending method.
The sheet metal profile is delivered without surface treatment and is therefore outstanding for further processing in larger steel structures. The starting material is an unalloyed structural steel, is often referred to as sheet metal and is generally suitable for standard welding processes.
Universally applicable
Hat profiles are incorporated in countless areas and industries and are a popular component for various applications. In the construction area, the profiles are often used as support rail for walls and even ceilings. They are also a popular component in substructures for back-ventilated facades or floors. Experience has shown that in the metal construction sector, you are rather used in the following customizations.
- Roller rail, for roller doors, gates and sliding doors
- Cover profile for cable and supply lines
- Adapter plate for machine parts
- Stand feet for constructions underway with a forklift
- Spacers for attachments
Customised
Thanks to our configurator, they can easily create individual hat profiles. Both the lateral dimensions, as well as the length and even the angles of the individual bends can be selected to be millimeter-precise. In this way you are barely bound and you can create the perfect profile for your project.
If a chosen measure is not technically feasible, the configurator will inform you so that you can design your profile very easily and according to your ideas. No expertise is needed and you can't break anything. Try it!
Profiles up to 2m length
We can produce and ship any configured profile from 50mm to 2000mm. The winding, i.e. the width before the sheet is bent, may be at most 1000 mm.
Scope
1x hat profile made from steel sheet according to your measurements
Notes
Despite careful processing, sharp cutting edges can occur, and the material can have smaller scratches or oil traces. We assume no liability for injury or damage. Light bending is possible for lengths from 1000mm. Please consider manufacturing tolerances of ± 2mm in profile length and ± 1° at angle.

Warning notices
- Caution! The sheet metal profile could have sharp cutting edges that could cut you. As we assume that the profile will be further processed and do not know in which form it will be used, we are unfortunately unable to deburr it without interfering with any weld seam preparations. For this reason, we recommend wearing cut-resistant gloves!
- Rust hazard! The sheet metal profile can rust heavily in a short time. This rust can weaken the material and lead to complete failure. We always recommend applying a corrosion-resistant protective layer, e.g. by painting!
- Keep away from other metals! Steel should never be brought into direct contact with other metals, or in their immediate vicinity, because contact corrosion or cross-contamination can occur. Contact corrosion and cross-contamination can significantly weaken the affected metals. Stainless steel is particularly affected, as it loses its non-corrosive properties
- Only process with respiratory protection! Steel should only be processed with appropriate respiratory protection, as metal dust poses health risks.
- Weld only with fume extraction! Steel should only be welded with an appropriate fume extraction system and using suitable respiratory protection. The gases produced during welding can cause severe health damage.
Care instructions
Since steel has no corrosion protection of its own and therefore starts to rust quickly, a protective layer is recommended, which is maintained at regular intervals. A protective layer can be built up, for example, by painting, galvanizing, powder coating or by applying commercially available mineral oil.
