Description

Custom galvanized hat rail

The hat profile, or often also called hat rail, is versatile and can be adapted precisely to your project thanks to our online configurator. It is made of high quality DX51 steel sheet with a material thickness between 0.5mm and 3mm, especially for you and brought into the desired shape with the die bending process.

The sheet metal profile has a galvanized surface that protects the steel from weathering and avoids the formation of rust. Thus, the material has a pronounced and easy-care corrosion protection, whereby the profile is well suited for the exterior.

Universally applicable

Hat profiles are incorporated in countless areas and industries and are a popular component for various applications. In the construction area, the profiles are often used as support rail for walls and even ceilings. They are also a popular component in substructures for back-ventilated facades or floors. Experience has shown that in the metal construction sector, you are rather used in the following customizations.

  • Roller rail, for roller doors, gates and sliding doors
  • As a rain gutter in the ground or generally as a drain gutter
  • Cover profile for cable and supply lines
  • Adapter plate for machine parts
  • Stand feet for constructions underway with a forklift
  • Spacers for attachments

Customised

Thanks to our configurator, they can easily create individual hat profiles. Both the lateral dimensions, as well as the length and even the angles of the individual bends can be selected to be millimeter-precise. This way you are barely bound and you can create the perfect profile for your project.

If a chosen measure is not technically feasible, the configurator will inform you so that you can design your profile very easily and according to your ideas. No expertise is needed and you can't break anything. Try it!

Profiles up to 2m length

We can produce and ship any configured profile from 50mm to 2000mm. The winding, i.e. the width before the sheet is bent, may be at most 1000 mm.

Notes

Despite careful processing, sharp cutting edges can occur, and the material can have smaller scratches or oil traces. We assume no liability for injury or damage. Light bending is possible for lengths from 1000mm. Please consider manufacturing tolerances of ± 2mm in profile length and ± 1° at angle.

Warning notices

  • Caution, risk of cuts! The sheet metal profile could have sharp cutting edges that could cut you. Unfortunately, we cannot deburr the profile without damaging the protective zinc coating and thus the corrosion resistance. For this reason, we recommend wearing cut-resistant gloves!
  • Keep away from other metals! Galvanized steel should never be brought into direct contact with other metals, or in their immediate vicinity, because contact corrosion or cross-contamination can occur. Contact corrosion and cross-contamination can weaken the affected metals. Stainless steels are particularly badly affected, as they can lose their non-corrosive properties.
    • Only work with respiratory protection! Galvanized steel should only be worked on with appropriate respiratory protection, as zinc dust has health risks.
  • Weld only with fume extraction! Galvanized steel may only be welded with an appropriate fume extraction system and using suitable respiratory protection. The gases produced during welding can cause severe poisoning.

Care instructions

Galvanized sheet metal is generally protected against rust and weathering and does not require any special care. Only the cut edges should be sealed, depending on the application, as the corrosion protection is considerably limited at this point.
